>>1685 I like it cause it stands out from other generic altchans tbh. I have a couple of image codec threads up on the tech board if you're interested.
>>1815 I think it would have been great if 4chan had actually succeeded with 4channel. We would have gotten significant advertiser revenue to hire an actually competent team of developers. Instead 4chan got hacked, all the admins/jannies doxed in the process and now the ape in charge keeps breaking the jerry rigged piece of shit site on a regular basis while spammers run rampant and users get IP range banned randomly.
I don't understand why Hiro trusted the ape, you take one good look at him and he screams DEI at 100 decibels.
>>1826 TO BE FAIR it also has AV1 support which a lot of altchans currently lack so it has some potential tbh. I remember countless /g/ threads of people complaining about that and recently it's all gone quiet which makes me suspect anyone who wants to make AV1 videos is now window shopping altchans that support it.
>>1816 Pretty sure Hiro sold out to some glowfags. It has somehow turned into a worse-than-reddit shithole with powertripping mods that keeping spamming retards around and ban anyone for calling it out.
>>1816 I get the feeling like 4chan should never have advertising revenue. It should fit on the two Macs it used to run on, running at a small loss that is affordable for the owner, as a freedom-focused passion project, and its staff should all be people who really want to see it succeed. That last point is the thing it currently doesn't have. Everyone involved with 4chan professionally is sick to death of seeing it, and when all your site's users are anonymous, there's no way to recruit fresh, enthusiastic moderators to replace the incestuous cabal of jaded lifers who just treat it like a tiresome obligation.
